How to sync Sony Bravia TV and Sony DVD surround system?

I have Sony TV, Sony DVD surround and Topfield digital cable receiver. What I want to do, is to use the surround speakers of the DVD system while watching TV. I set the DVD system to TV mode, and on the TV settings for speakers I choose Audio System. But there's no sound at all.

In the first AV slot I have the DVD, and in the second I have the Topfield receiver.

How do I connect this pls HELP!?

Hi could we get model numbers, it would help identify what connects are available and if you sound system can do what you would like?
